“Wait, what do you mean you like to plan your weeks with the help of planetary magic? How does that work?”
^^ You’re about to find out, my friend!
In this blog post, I’m sharing how I plan my tasks according to the magical planetary correspondences of each day of the week.
This practice helps me add a little more magic, meaning, and connection to my days as a small business owner. Maybe it can help you, too?
What Is Planetary Magic?
Planetary magic is an ancient practice of aligning your intentions, actions, and focus with the energy of specific planets (like Mercury or Venus).
By tapping into the energy of each planet, you can harness its qualities to bring your desires into being.
➡️ One of my favorite ways to do this?
Planning my business tasks around the planetary correspondences of each day of the week.
These correspondences–rooted astrology, mythology, and even tarot–give each day a unique “theme” of sorts, allowing me to batch my work in a slightly more intentional way.
How I Plan My Week According To Planetary Magic
There is something deeply comforting about aligning my work with something bigger than myself.
It makes the entrepreneurial journey feel a little less lonely–and a lot more magical.
Here’s how I do it:
📅 For each day of the week, I start by looking at the planet associated with it (like Mercury = Wednesday, or Venus = Friday).
Then, I contemplate the energy of that planet and the types of activities it supports as I write my to-do list for the day.
If you want to go deeper, you can incorporate color, crystal, and even Tarot correspondences in your personal practice. For example, you might wear silver on Mondays, or place the Magician tarot card on your altar each Wednesday.
For me personally, though, that usually feels like a bit too much work right now. Simply tuning into the planetary magic of each day is enough for me in this season of life.
The Planetary Magic Behind Each Day Of The Week
Day of the week: Monday
Ruling planet: The Moon
Associated with: The subconscious, intuition, dreams, healing, psychic abilities
How I use it in my business:
Since Monday is associated with the Moon (and the Moon doesn’t rush!), I have given myself permission to take Mondays a little slower.
If I must take a call on a Monday, I try to put a lot of “white space” around it, giving myself plenty of time to decompress before and after.
A slow start like this is also a boon for my ADHD brain, which needs quite a bit of “transition time” to switch focus from Weekend Mode to Work Mode.
I also find Monday to be one of the best days for mindset & healing work. So if there’s a nagging mindset issue that I’ve had (e.g. around pricing), I’ll often schedule some EFT tapping to work on it then.
💻 Business-related activities I would recommend for Mondays:
- Brainstorming & intuitive planning sessions
- Mindset work around business difficulties (e.g. EFT, hypnosis)
- Exploring the pain points & desires of your customers, “tuning into” how they are feeling
Day of the week: Tuesday
Ruling planet: Mars
Associated with: energy, passion, courage, conflict, strength
How I use it in my business:
Mars energy is all about taking decisive action and pushing through challenges–perfect for tackling those projects that need some extra fire and focus.
That’s why Tuesday is one of my big deep work/writing days.
If I have client work that week, the bulk of it will happen on Tuesday/Thursday.
When I’m revising the same headline for the 27th time (ahh, the joys of being a copywriter!), Mars energy helps me remember the bigger picture–a.k.a. why I started working for myself in the first place.
💻 Business-related activities I would recommend for Tuesdays:
- Batch-filming a month’s worth of Reels for your business
- Do the biggest, most energy-heavy things for your clients
- Tackle a big BTS task (like creating a new lead magnet) with an intense hyperfocus session
Day of the week: Wednesday
Ruling planet: Mercury
Associated with: Communication, travel, learning
How I use it in my business:
Wednesday, or Mercury Day, is my go-to day for Zoom calls, meetings, and anything that involves connecting with others.
While I offer my clients flexibility when they need it, my calendar is actually blocked off for most of the week in order to help me stick to this system.
In theory, since Mercury is associated with learning, including a “learning hour” block on your calendar each Wednesday could also work beautifully.
That said, I’ll be honest–I still struggle to implement this myself. (Hey, we’re all a work in progress, right?)
💻 Business-related activities I would recommend for Wednesdays:
- Allllll the meetings (kick-off calls, podcast interviews, etc.)
- Catching up on courses you bought (need a course tracker to keep track of them, by any chance?)
- Creating your own courses + other educational content (e.g. blog posts)
Day of the week: Thursday
Ruling planet: Jupiter
Associated with: expansion, abundance, leadership, growth, authority
How I use it in my business:
Right now, Thursday is another big client work day for me.
If I wasn’t doing client work on the regular, I would allocate Thursdays for doing Big Scary Things that have the potential to drive revenue growth in the long-term.
Think: exploring new business opportunities, sending proposals to potential clients, and working on my most ambitious long-term goals.
💻 Business-related activities I would recommend for Thursdays:
- Client work–because you know that clients = money
- Big Bold Moves, like announcing a new product or service, or sending out a cold pitch
- Creating something that will help you grow/bring in revenue in the long run (e.g. your new digital product)
Day of the week: Friday
Ruling planet: Venus
Associated with: love, beauty, pleasure, The Arts, luxury, creativity, relationships
How I use it in my business:
Friday is “me time” for me and my business.
This is when I write my newsletter, work on my marketing, and do my best to carve out some time to work on the behind-the-scenes systems here at The Copy Sanctuary.
At the first glance, these tasks may not seem related to Venus at all–but they absolutely are.
How? Well, it’s a luxury to work on my business instead of it.
I love infusing beauty and creativity into this work where I can. And creating things for my business–be it my newsletter or this blog post–feels more like an art form than a regular ol’ task.
And what’s more Venusian than that?
💻 Add a little Venus magic to your Fridays by:
- Taking the time to work exclusively on YOUR business (it’s luxurious!)
- Design & aesthetic tasks (making IG posts, updating your branding)
- Client relationship building (love on your peeps)
Day of the week: Saturday
Ruling planet: Saturn
Associated with: Boundaries, discipline, karma, time, restrictions
How I use it in my business:
Weekends aren’t always for slowly sipping a cappuccino while strolling around the lake (though that does sound dreamy).
In fact, I find that, with a bit of discipline–hello, Saturn!–Saturdays can be surprisingly productive for me.
My natal Saturn is in my 2nd House (the house of money, finances & possessions), so I often try to do my Money Date routine on Saturdays. It’s the perfect time for me review my finances, track expenses (I use YNAB for this–get us both a free month here), and plan for the week ahead.
If I have extra client work left over from the week, I will try to schedule it for Saturday mornings.
I strongly dislike doing “actual” work on the weekend (it feels like I’m stealing from myself) but Saturn’s grounding, disciplined energy helps me power through when I need to.
💻 How to use Saturn for a productive Saturday:
- Get the “boring” stuff done (invoices, bookkeeping)
- Review your processes & systems (any boundary issues to correct?)
- Tackle The One Task that’s been on your to-do list for ages
Day of the week: Sunday
Ruling planet: The Sun
Associated with: Vitality, success, confidence, fun, play
How I use it in my business:
Sundays are for resting! You won’t find me working or doing anything remotely productive on a Sunday unless I’m really behind on my client work–which hasn’t happened in quite a while.
The Sun represents vitality and rejuvenation, so this is the perfect day to recharge in whatever way feels most alive to you.
For me, that means taking long walks in nature, going out to brunch, and losing myself in whatever hobby my ADHD brain has been hyperfocusing on lately.
These activities may not look “productive” on paper but they are essential for maintaining the level of energy and enthusiasm I bring to my clients all week.
💻 If you do feel called to work on a Sunday, I would suggest the following activities:
- Highly creative tasks that bring you joy (e.g. writing your book)
- Healing practices (like EFT tapping on your latest business block)
- Optimistic, future-oriented activities (like creating a vision board)
How To Use Planetary Magic In *Your* Business
If you would like to incorporate some planetary magic into your days as a small business owner, my best advice is to start small.
Try it out for a day or two when your calendar isn’t too packed. And don’t try to do it “perfectly” (there’s no such thing).
Personally, I ebb and flow in and out of this way of scheduling as needed.
